Training courses with vice district administrators

The Búzi flood warning is in the process of further development.

An intensive training is also taking place. In three preparatory courses in June and July, 115 technicians from 47 districts all situated in natural hazard zones were trained. The participants came from the planning sector and from the National Institute for Disaster Management. The training will enable them to integrate disaster prevention into the 2008 district development and budget plans.

The cooperation between technical planers and the political “Secretários Permanentes” from the hazardous districts have contributed strongly to the institutionalization of catastrophe prevention. Furthermore, a course with 100 young individuals from the national youth organization was carried out. In the future, these participants will be working in this field.
