Dominic Liber, Quindiem, South AfricaDominic Liber is an actuary, and has been working as such in HIV & AIDS since 1995. He is a director of Quindiem Consulting, a South Africa based actuarial consultancy with a wide variety of services (see www.quindiem.com). He has co-authored a training manual on microinsurance for MFIs, and done work in Uganda as well as in South Africa in microinsurance initiatives. In South Africa, He has been extensively involved in HIV & AIDS risk management and product development for low income housing finance, and consults to numerous insurers and reinsurers including Munich Re on HIV & AIDS risk and product development. He also undertakes HIV & AIDS impact assessments for many companies in South Africa including retailers, local governments and financial services firms. He facilitated the appointment of Quindiem to the panel of the FIRST Initiative as insurance specialists. He is also the Convener of the AIDS Committee of the Actuarial Society of South Africa, which produces a number of widely used and highly regarded actuarial and demographic models. |
