Doubell Chamberlain, Consultant to FinMark Trust, South Africa

Doubell Chamberlain is a development economist specialising in the areas of financial sector policy and regulatory strategy for development, access to financial services and making markets work for the poor. He holds a Masters in Economics (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa).

Doubell is currently an independent consultant for the FinMark Trust working on projects related to the regulation of micro-insurance in South Africa and internationally. Current projects include leading a team of consultants supporting the South African government in the development of a regulatory framework for micro-insurance and leading a team of consultants reviewing the principles of regulating micro-insurance for a joint IAIS-CGAP working group on micro-insurance and drawing evidence from Colombia, India, Philippines, South African and Uganda.
