Munich Re Foundation "2006 report" – From Knowledge to Action

The Munich Re Foundation was established in 2005. The foundation’s motto: "From Knowledge to Action". The issues set out in its Articles of Association – water, climate change, disaster prevention and population growth – are directly derived from the knowledge of its benefactor and from its own expertise. The foundation’s second year was a time for consolidating projects launched in the inaugural year. In this, significant progress has been achieved.

The 2006 Report reviews the activities sponsored by the foundation in 2006 at a variety of different locations, including Mozambique, Eritrea and Tonga. It summarises international and national events organised by the foundation on the topics of microinsurance, social vulnerability and the risks of city life. Finally, the report gives details of projects involving schools in Germany.
