Munich Re Foundation "2008 report"

To identify the interrelationships, network the actors, promote awareness and play an active role – these were the Munich Re Foundation’s targets at the start of 2008.
 
Setting up the flood early-warning system on the River Save in Mozambique was achieved more quickly than anticipated. The fourth International Microinsurance Conference in Cartagena, Colombia, attracted 450 participants from over 40 countries – 50% more than the previous year. The dialogue forums, which looked at what the future might hold for Munich in 2030, were also well attended. Regrettably, we were unable to pursue the fog nets project in Eritrea, due to the increasingly difficult political situation.
