This preliminary briefing note summarises some of the key insights and trends from the 2017 Landscape of Microinsurance in Latin America and the Caribbean study which will be published in the first quarter of 2018. Like the 2014 study, it comprises data from both primary sources and secondary research on the 21 largest markets in the region. The data collected through this study indicates that, as of December 2016, about 8.2% of the Latin American population had at least one microinsurance policy. An estimated total of 52.1 million people are now insured.1 The total value of gross written premiums is USD 420 million, based on data from the regulators and other secondary sources. >mehr

En esta nota descriptiva preliminar se resumen algunas claves y tendencias del estudio El panorama del microseguro en América Latina y el Caribe 2017, el cual se publicará en el primer trimestre de 2018. Al igual que en el estudio de 2014, en este se incluyen los datos de fuentes primarias y de investigación secundaria sobre los 21 mercados más importantes en la región. Según se desprende de los datos recogidos en este estudio, a partir de diciembre de 2016, alrededor del 8,2% de la población latinoamericana tuvo al menos una póliza de microseguro. Se calcula que actualmente hay un total de 52,1 millones de personas aseguradas. El volumen de las primas brutas suscritas asciende a un total de USD 420 millones2, según los datos de las entidades reguladores y de otras fuentes secundarias. >mehr
