About the conference

The inclusive insurance sector has experienced persistent growth in client outreach and premium volumes over the past ten years. New technologies are boosting market coverage. Nonetheless, many people living at the bottom of the pyramid are still without cover or alternative risk management options. Climate change will make the situation worse. The InsuResilience Global Partnership has therefore set a target to insure 500 million people against climate risks by 2020. With the global middle class expected to grow to nearly five billion within two decades, we are looking at billions of people who are without a formal safety net from insurance and hence at risk of falling (back) into poverty.
The International Conference on Inclusive Insurance 2020 - Digital edition will be hosted by the Munich Re Foundation and the Microinsurance Network as an online event. Around 70 speakers will share their knowledge and experience in 18 sessions. Over 1500 participants from 100+ countries will attend this global gathering of inclusive insurance and development experts.
Representatives from insurance and reinsurance companies, brokers, distribution channels, technology providers, investment funds, international organisations, NGOs and development aid agencies, as well as academics, policy makers and insurance supervisors, will attend the conference. Delegates will exchange views on current growth trends and risks in emerging markets and discuss key factors for successful implementation and maximised business opportunities to bring supply and demand to the next level.
